Today wasn't too eventful so I decided I would give you all some random facts I have noticed about London...
This morning I went to the Islington Tennis Center to get in a good workout before class. I noticed a few things about the people who work out in London. First, most of them do not wear tennis shoes like we do in the U.S. I saw a handful of people running on treadmills in Converse high tops! Second, people do not sanitize their machines when they are finished which is also something significantly different than back home.
I also took a Pilates class this morning which was pretty neat. The instructor was really good but had an accent so at first it was kind of hard for me to understand her. As the class went on, I got more used to her voice and overall it went pretty well.
Londoners are much less emotional than us Americans. People never smile at you on the street and this has been hard for me to get used to since I am a pretty smiley person. I sometimes find myself smiling at people walking towards me only to receive a blank stare back…oh well smiling still makes me feel goodJ
Pretty much everyone in London smokes…I feel like I may get secondhand smoke from this city sometimes but hey, it’s worth it right?
All the women wear boots everyday...heeled boots, UGG boots, rain boots...etc.
Sandwiches are a staple when it comes to finding something for lunch. All the shops around my school pretty much offer sandwiches and pastries...but they offer many varities of each and so far everything I have tried as been delicious!
That's all I have for now but I will add to this as I come across more :)

Hale,
ReplyDeleteWhen I was in London only a week, I began blowing my nose from a cold, and the snot was black from all of the smog in the city. Don't be surprised if you experience the same thing!
