I woke up around 9am this morning and looked up places to find a farmer's market. I decided to go to one called Chapel Market in Islington which is the town we live in. It was about a 20 minute walk to the market and it was quite nice. They had a lot of fresh fruit and vegetables, pastries, cheese, and meats. I settled on a fresh loaf of seedy bread for 1 pound 80 pence. It will be perfect for making sandwiches.
Then I met up with two of my roomies Amy, and Laura and joined them on their school "field trip." We took the tube to Chalk Farm and walked around the markets. It was unbelieveable! Stores and stores full of clothes, jewelry, furniture...etc. My favorite place we went was this store called Cyberdog. It was the most rediculous store I have EVER been in. When you walk in and look up, there were 2 men dancing in these balconies that looked like cages. The whole store was lit by black lights and it was very futuristic. The fashion reminded me of Lady Gaga...it was crazy! I almost bought a t-shirt but decided to wait...I will probably go back tomorrow and end up buying it.
Then we went to Covent Garden and met up with 2 of our other roomies Monica and Brooke. We went to this American style bar called Belushis for lunch. We asked for a table and our waitress led us upstairs to the private party room...complete with it's own bar! It was pretty fun having the big room all to ourselves. I really wanted the fish and chips but then I saw they had grilled chicken sandwiches on the menu which I have been craving since I arrived. I decided to forgo the fish for the sandwich and got it hawaiian style (complete with bacon, pineapple, and melted cheese). It was sooo yummy!!
Then it was time to come back to the flat and get a start on all my homework that is due by midnight tonight...ugh. It's kind of weird because it really doesn't feel like I am here for school considering I only have class 3 days a week. I have a project due for international marketing where I have to make a slide show so that should be pretty easy. This weekend was pretty chill so not too much to report. I did a lot of walking and my legs are pretty tired.
I'm hoping to get out more this week (hopefully the weather is nicer) and take some more pics for you guys to see.
Until next time,
Cheers!
