We like to eat tacos and margs

Waking up to raindrops pounding on my window was not the best way to start the morning...last night me and Monica planned to head out at 8:30 am to hit up Portobello Road and I was kind of dreading going out in the rain. But it turned out to be a successful trip! We got there right at 9 (the time the market opens) and it started off pretty quiet. We walked through some neat antique shops and found a lot of cool jewelry.

The street was lined with all these amazing stands of fresh fruits/veggies, breads, baked goods, fish, meat, and much more. It all looked/smelled amazing. Here are a few picture I have of the market.

This place was pretty freakin adorable

At around 10:30 we were getting kind of annoyed of all the people with "brellies" and it was started to get super crowded so we hopped back on the tube and headed home. Once back in the warmth of flat A20, I made myself a little lunch of baked beans and a turkey/ham sandwich. Then I did some yoga because I was kind of bored. After that I grabbed my book and hit up Upper Street in Islington. This has become one of my more favorite places to go because there are a lot of fun shops/cafes to go in. I walked around for a while before stopping in at one of my favorite places called Euphorium. I got a espresso macchiatto and a piece of moist carrot cake. I thought the espresso macchiatto was going to be like a regular caramel macchitto but I was obviously mistaken. When the little waiter man brought me my drink, it was tiny! I think it was pretty much just espresso too (I have never really had straight up espresso) because I immediatly got real shakey and couldn't focus on my reading hehe oopsies. It was still really tasty though. Then it was time to head back to the flat and plan out the rest of the evening.

Monica, Kirsten, and I decided on a mexican restaurant called Lupita. We started off with a nice appatizer of chips and salsa and some delicious mango margaritas. This place was clearly the place to be on a saturday night around 8:30 because it was crazy busy and it took our waiter about 20 minutes to finally take our real order. I went with the pastor tacos...the waiter told me they were small and I should probably get 2 orders but I didn't listen and just went with one. When my plate arrived it was actually kind of funny because of how tiny they were! But as they say, size doesn't matter because these little guys were TAY-STEE!!!

Real Chips!

Margs+chips and salsa=the perfect girlie night

Thought this little sausage shop was pretty funny

After dinner was complete, we weren't quite ready to head back to the flat yet so we decided to take a lovely stroll alongside the Thames River. I must also point out that since I've arrive in London, my alcohol tolerance has gone down quite a bit...after one margarita, my legs were feeling pretty tingly and I was in a great mood :) Anyway, we walked across this really pretty bridge over the Thames and saw all the awesome attractions of London lit up at night. We saw the London Eye, Big Ben and Parliment, The London Aquarium, and City Hall. It was so beautiful...we all commented on how it would have been so romantic to spend the evening with boys...not that we didn't enjoy each other's company though! Here are a few snapshots to capture the moment :)

Now it is time for bed as I have to wake up extra early tomorrow to head out for a tour! Monica and I are visiting Leed's castle, Canterbury, the White Cliffs of Dover, and Dover Castle! I am so excited for another day outside of the city and will update you all tomorrow after I return!

Cheers!
