Singing in the Rain

Well I can't complain too much because lately the weather has been "brilliant" but today it was a very rainy, windy, gloomy day. I woke up and dinked around on my computer for a while to plan out my day. I logged into facebook (of course) and saw this picture right away and it made me really happy....
Since the Packers won the Superbowl, my dad cannot stop talking about them. This is all the stuff he bought on Monday and he bought the same stuff for my mom. I can't get over how excited he is :)

I also wanted to share with ya'll the wonderful package I received from my mum! She knows me so well and sent all my favorite treats. It has been really hard for me but this time I am trying to make them last longer than a week. She sent nutrition bars, trail mix, fig bars, peanut butter puffins, and gummy tummies (all my faves from Trader Joes!). Gosh I have the greatest parents ever :)

Anyway, back to today. After figuring out what I wanted to do on this rainy day, I put on my wellies (thanks bro and waycho!) grabbed my umbrella, and headed out the door. My first stop was the Tate Modern Museum. This museum was unlike any of the others I have seen thus far. It was full of contemporary art and I actually really liked it. There were some really crazy exhibits (some pissed me off becasue they seemed so easy that I could produce better work!) and it was neat to see the difference between a modern museum and one of a more traditional style. My favorite things to see were the paintings by Picasso, Andy Warhol, and the "Waterlily" by my favorite artist, Monet. After checking out the art, I hit up the giftshop and looked at some art books for a while. It made me want to become an artist for a second...then I rememberd I can't even draw people with bodies...

After the museum, I walked around in the rain for a while and came upon the Bourough Market. It is this huge food market down by the Thames River and it. was. AWESOME! There were stands of fresh pastries, cheeses, meat, fish, fruits, vegetables...etc. I had a lot of fun walking past all the booths and will definitly be going back when it is a little nicer out so I can get a pastry and coffee and sit by the river.

Then, I went to find a little cafe to get me some yummy foods. I ended up going to this place called Bea's of Bloomsbury and got a sandwich and flat white coffee. It was actually the first time I have eaten out in London for a whole week so I kind of splurged. I sat upstairs, ate my food, and read my book and just enjoyed the moment. Today was a day where I didn't look at the clock and just took my time. I love those kinds of days here. Here's my lunchy.
After lunch, I hopped on the tube and headed to Westfield Mall-supposedly it's the biggest mall in London. They had all sorts of designer stores such as Burberry, Louis V, Jimmy Choo, and Tiffany's. They also had some cheaper stores like Topshop, H&M, and Nike. I didn't buy anything though because I can get all this stuff back in the U.S. probably for a lot cheaper too! I am trying to save my money so that I can get lots of chocolate and waffles in Belgium :)

After the mall, I was kind of sleepy since I had been walking around for about 6 hours so I decided to take my tired leggies home. NOw I am working on some homework and I might try to catch a theatre show later tonight (Legally Blonde or Dirty Dancing?). Hopefully I can find some cheap tickets! Thanks for tuning in and talk to you later!
