The Magic Garden

Today was a no class day so my day started out bright and early. My plan was to head to a few art museums but that plan was not such a splendid one...once I finally found the museum I was searching for, it was TINY! There was nobody inside so I turned around and left. I was kind of frustrated so I didn't even continue to look for the second museum; instead I headed to my favorite spot in London, the Borough Market. I walked around for a while and then stopped by Apostrophe to grab a sandwich. I took my sandwich and sat in the courtyard of St. Paul's Cathedral and read my book...it was sunny but a little chilly but it was a nice way to spend the afternoon.

After I finished my lunch, I met up with Monica at the Holland Park tube station. We have wanted to go to Holland Park since about 3 weeks ago and we finally found it! It was seriously my most favorite park yet. It was very wooded and had so much vegetation. It is a Japenese Garden so there were beautiful flowering trees and pretty walkways everywhere. There was also a very lovely waterfall in the center of the park. We just sat and listened to the bubbling of the water for a while and it was so rejuvinating.
Cutest little street ever! The houses were so perfect and the trees were really neat.

A man in the park was quite distraught about the chopping down of this tree and told us how it used to be the biggest tree in Holland Park. He informed us they just cut it down earlier this week and he was really upset about it.

Seriously takes away all the streeses of life...

Seriously could have stood there all day long

Loving the blueness of this peacock

Probably one of the craziest things about Holland Park was the fact that there were dozens of peacocks roaming throughout the park. I have never in my entire life seen a peacock outside of a zoo so it was pretty exciting. The man peacocks must have still been celebrating Valentine's Day though because they were trying to get with all the girl peacocks.

Getting ready to find it's future wifey

This man peacock was shakin his booty at us

So after walking through the park for a while we decided it was time to head back to our flat...until we spotted a bright orange awning that read mia gelato! If you've been following my blog, you know us girls have a special place in our heart for gelato...Monica and I could not pass up the opportunity. When we walked inside we were welcomed by dozens of fresh cartons of gelato staring up at us from inside the freezer cases. To make matters even better, my little eye spied on the menu GELATO MILKSHAKES!!!! We were so excited-I went with Tiramisu and Monica got Cookies and Creme. After our milkshakes, we both declared this the best day we've had in London :)

Perfect ending to a perfect day in Londy

Now it's off to bed for the Little Londoner...Cheers!
