Hampstead Heath, Primrose Hill, and a little Hache

Ello all! Today my class got cancelled so I had the whole entire day to do whatever I wanted. I decided today would be another park day. First, I walked from our flat to Regent's Park (I am really sick of taking the tube)!! Then from Regent's Park, I walked over a little bridge which led right to this place called Primrose Hill. I read about it in my little travel book and it said it's a great place to get a good view of the entire city. I walked up the hill which was weird becasue this was really the first hill I've seen in London. At the top, the view was awesome...if it wouldn't have been foggy/smoggy, you would have been able to see every important building in London. It was still really beautiful though.
Crossed this little body of water to reach Primrose Hill

View from Primrose Hill...you can kind of make out the city in the distance

I stayed at the top for a good 5 minutes and then continued my journey to find Hampstead Heath which was also in my travel book...it said this park is great for amazing views as well as rolling meadows and lakes. It took me about 45 minutes to walk from Primrose to Hampstead but I would say the walk was worth it. The park was great. I walked to the top of this huge hill called Parliment Hill and got another great but smoggy view. I should have waited until a sunny clear day but oh well!

Read my book from this spot :)

Crazy tree! It was growing sideways!

Once again, my fascination with weird looking trees takes over

I sat at the top of the hill for about 20 minutes reading my book and looking out over the city...it was quite brilliant :) It was a little chilly at the top because it was super windy so my fingies started to freeze; I headed down the hill and walked past this lovely little lake.
Pretty little lake in Hampstead Heath

More lake

I thought these houses were super cute

After leaving Hampstead Heath, I got quite confused as to how to get back to my flat. I wasn't quite sure how far away I was and didn't really want to retrace all my steps as that would have taken a good hour and a half to get home. I found a bus and decided to try it out...and for once in my life, my luck was actually good! The bus took me to Tottenham Court station which is pretty close to my school (perfect because I had to print something off anyway)! On my way to the school, I checked out Regent Street for some shopping...this street had the best stores ever! I would say it might even be better than Oxford Street. I even found my most favorite store...ANTHROPOLOGIE!!!! Of course I didn't buy anything because the prices are so much more expensive over here than compared to back home, but it was still exciting to see :)

Heaven

From Regent Street I hit up Marylebone Hight Street and stopped at school before taking the tube back to my flat. Then my roomate Kirsten and I went to find us some milkshakes (I was starving since I hadn't really eaten since breakfast 7 hours ago). We were going to go to this place called shakaway which we found online. It has like 500 million different milkshakes (okay that may be an exaggeration) and we had been looking forward to this treat all week long. When we finally go to the shake shack I was like "hopefully it's open!" And guess what...it was fricken CLOSED!!! Apparently there rent was too high and they shut down all the locations in London!!! We were so upset. We hopped on a bus and went to another location nearby that we knew also had shakes. I had one called the chunky monkey (that's what I'm going to be if I keep eating ice cream hehe) which consisted of banana, kit kat chunky, and hershey's chocolate sauce. It was yummy but not as good as our gelato milkshakes...nothing will ever compare to those!

Then we went back to the flat and hung out for a while before getting ready to go out to girl's night dinner. Kirsten, Monica and I went to this place called Hache which I read about online and in my travel book. Supposedly it is known as the best place to get a burger in London...I would agree 100%. This place had possibly the best tasting burger I have ever had...besides my moms burgers of course:) The flavors were so yummy and the burger was incredibly juicy. I had the all day breakfast burger which consisted of a steak burger patty, portobello mushroom, bacon, and fried egg. Monica had a fajita chicken burger and Kirsten had a mexican steak burger. We were also pretty excited because this place served sweet potato frittes!!! It was amazing...words cannot even describe how satisfied my stummy was after this meal. I will admit I went home and threw on the sweatpants...but I am trying to stuff in as much good food as I can since I only have 3 weeks left before my stay in London is over. Here are some pictures to help you understand the amazingness of this meal :)

BEST meal ever!!!! (Notice how big the burger is)
